Succulents in the Winter

Winter Succulents

Probably one of the easiest plants to grow this time of year and very low maintenance. We had close to forty succulents left over from our wedding decor so I replanted them in large white bowls. This time of the year, they only need 3-4 hours of sunlight and a little bit of water in each pot once per week. No need for fertilizer as the plants are actually dormant. The bonus of having indoor plants especially during this time of year, is that they purify the air, release water into the air which is always needed in these cold months.

Very interesting to read that there was a study done by Kansas State University that placed plants in patients rooms. What they found was that patients had lower heart rates, lower blood pressure, used less pain meditation and feel less anxiety.

That's wonderful news and reason enough to add plants to our winter homes!

Give it a try and see what you think.
