3 DAY CLEANSE // CARROT SEAWEED MEDLEY RECIPE


Carrot Seaweed Medley (Day 2 of 3 Cleanse) 
(makes 1 serving)

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
1/4 medium onion, cut into thin slices
1/2 medium carrot, cut into matchstick sized pieces
1/4 medium red bell pepper, cute into half inch chunks
2Tbsp. shelled edamame
2Tbsp. seaweed
1/4 cup water
1 dash himalayan sea salt
1 green onion, thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS:
1. soak seaweed in cool water for 5 minutes; drain and set aside
2. Heat sesame oil in large skillet over medium  heat. Add onion; cook, stirring frequently, for 2 minutes
3. Add carrots, bell pepper, edamame, seaweed, and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to maintain a gentle boil; cook, covered for 5-8 minutes..
4. Remove cover. Add salt; cook for 1 minute. Add green onion mix well.

SEANA'S COCONUT + BANANA +POMEGRANATE ACAI BOWL

ACAI BOWLS are PACKED with antioxidants, nutrients, probiotics and major vitamins. This is a delicious breakfast you can make while unwinding with a cup of tea... and feel GOOD about what you're giving your body.
For the ACAI BOWL, you want to reach a thick concistency, try going with frozen fruit from the options below included in the puree. In addition, fresh fruit works best for toppings! 
INGREDIENTS:
ACAI PURÉE
  • 1/2 small banana
  • 1 (3.5-oz) pack of frozen unsweetened acai berry pulp (found at Whole Foods)
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
TOPPINGS
  • 1/2 small banana, sliced
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/4 cup of pomegranate seeds
  • dash of chia seeds
  • dash of cinnamon 
ADDITIONAL TOPPING IDEAS (...options are endless!)
  • 1/2 kiwi, peeled and sliced or chopped
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup peeled and chopped pineapple or mango, optional 
  • 1/4 cup granola, optional
  • Drizzle of raw honey, optional
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Prepare acai purée: In a blender, add banana, acai pulp, strawberries, blueberries and a splash of almond milk. Take your time here blending and adding milk slowly. When ingredients have mostly come together and all of milk has been added, blend on high for 15 to 20 seconds more until you reach the puree consistency.
  2. Add toppings: Pour acai purée into a bowl and arrange toppings to your desire. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or honey to top off your creation!

3 DAY PLANT BASED CLEANSE

I'm beyond thrilled to share with you the nitty gritty details on my 3 Day Plant Based Cleanse i'll be doing with the Motivated Mavens this month!


Why Refresh?
• You need a clean break from a period of unhealthy eating.
• You used to eat pretty well but have recently fallen off the wagon and need some help getting back on.
• You want to jump-start healthy eating habits for a new workout program. 
• You want to quickly lose a few pounds for an upcoming event.
• You’ve never been a healthy eater, but are ready to kick-start better nutrition for the first time.
• You want your clothes to fit better.
• You want more energy.
• You love food and want to be satisfied while you lose weight and get healthier.
• You’ve tried liquid fasts or other fad diets and they simply don’t work.

For 3 Days, you’ll have a superfood-packed shake for breakfast (Vegan chocolate, my absolute favorite) along with a fruit option; a Fiber Sweep digestive health drink later in the morning; a satisfying, high-protein Vanilla Fresh shake for lunch, accompanied by fresh fruit, vegetables, and healthy fat options throughout the afternoon. For dinner, you’ll have another Vanilla Fresh shake along with your choice from a list of delicious, easy-to-prepare dinner recipes. You can also have tea twice a day and as much filtered water as you like (we suggest you drink AT LEAST half your bodyweight in ounces per day).

Here's a breakdown of the meal plans, shakes, water, etc!...



Here's what a sample day could look like for you:

Breakfast: Start with your Vegan Chocolate Shakeology blended with water and one serving from the fruit list. How about half banana, and mixed it in the blender with the Shakeology? Score! (you can eat it separately too!) Unsweetened herbal or green tea. (Stevia sweetener is allowed if you need it!

Mid-Morning Snack: Fiber sweep drink with filtered water.

Lunch: Vanilla Fresh Shake blended with water and one serving of fruit. How about 12 medium strawberries and your Vanilla shake? Score! (You can eat the fruit separately too.) You also get to eat one serving of veggies and one serving of a healthy fat. I went with sliced red pepper and two tablespoons of spicy hummus. 

Afternoon Snack: One serving of vegetables and one serving of healthy fats. How about five baby carrots and a teaspoons and a half of almond butter – carrots and almond butter it's my jam!

Dinner: Vanilla Fresh Shake blended with water and a bit of cinnamon sprinkled on top. One serving of any of the dinner recipes found in the book. I chose the veggie stir-fry made with green beans, carrot, bell peppers and fresh grated ginger (YUM!).  It was a small portion, but tasty and filling. Plus, you get to have an optional 1 cup of organic vegetable broth. I seasoned mine with cayenne pepper and some chopped cilantro. It was tasty!

This is seriously to DIE for goodness that I hope you add to your Spring clean eating regimen!
Check out the image these are each of the ingredients I used for the Spring rolls!
Only one thing missing, the rice paper sheets. I found them at Wholefoods.

PROJECT 7 + SUGAR FREE GUM


Next time you're in Target give this yummy gum a whirl! Tastes great and helps with those after lunch sweet tooth cravings. And better yet, a portion of the payments goes to @Project7...

The 7 causes chosen by Project 7 are the areas we see the most need in this world. These include: Feeding the Hungry, Healing the Sick, supporting those who Hope for Peace, Housing the Homeless, Quenching Those who Thirst, Teaching them Well, and Saving the Earth.

So that's a taste good + a feel good all wrapped into one sweet little piece of sugar free gum! 😍

CRAB STUFFED WILD CAUGHT SALMON


Delicious crab stuffed wild caught salmon! This is a must for lent!

Ingredients

1/2 Lemon
16oz Lump Crab Meat
3 cloves Garlic, minced
3 Tbsp Parsley, minced
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
24 oz Wild Caught Salmon Filet, 4, 6 oz filets
1 tsp Garlic & Herb Seasoning, (sub: 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 2 cloves garlic, minced)

Preheat oven to bake at 400°F.
In a small bowl, season crab meat with minced garlic, parsley, the juice of half of a lemon, salt, and pepper.
Slice salmon filet lengthwise down the center to create a space for stuffing.
Stuff salmon with seasoned crab meat, using about 1/4 cup of crab per salmon filet.
On a broiling pan, bake salmon for 18 minutes at 400°F.
Switch to broil, move rack to the top layer, and broil salmon at 500°F for an additional 5 minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon.

Through my yoga flow this morning, I played an empowering podcast by Eckhart Tolle. In his message I found a deep connection to slowing down and living right then and there. Not thinking of the day, the afternoon of work or the upcoming evening --- but really LIVING in present moment. 
How humble you become by actually seeing the world around in it's present time. 
Wherever you read this, take a moment to be present. Even if it's your office space -- look how far you've come. The people you're surrounded by. The warm cup of Joe. Anything! This is your present moment.

Stares back at me in my home office. Pinned to my bulletin board, It’s my daily reminder of the infinite possibilities that life has instore for both of us. The desire to roam, travel and experience new things with my husband pulls at both of our cores. 

We just did the math and from our little side gigs, we have enough money to really splurge on some summer travel! The best part is that we’ll even be able work our jobs on the ROAD! Yep, we truly love what we’re doing! Drew booking gigs for musicians all over the US (along with himself) and for me, running one incredible group of Motivated Mavensand Wellness Coaches…. Pinch…. Me.

So! First off, thinking a trip down the California coast for a week or two? Or forever? wink emoticon

COACH SHOUTOUT :: MARIJA


I am SO proud to announce this driven friend of mine, Marija Crosson. A few short months ago, we connected up over our love of fitness, clean eating, goal setting and general #girlboss lifestyle. I knew from the beginning that I had a TRUE go-getter on my hands! This was especially true because she committed to working out every-single-day. (Yes! I know!!! Hello...GO-getter!!) She doesn't just give you 75%..or 80%... it's 100% all the time. When she's committed, she's committed. Oh, and not to mention the most delicious clean meals I've ever seen! This girl can cook!

Now as a coach, she's giving that full 100% back. Taking what she's learned and investing it in her teammates. She's transformed and now taking her crew #TeamUplift with her!
